This vase is 7" high x 4" wide at the widest point. Thrift shop find today. There is a thick, clear layer and a much thinner inner layer of colored glass. There is an indistinct mark on the bottom that I cannot read. I think I can just make out the word "Made" but will not swear to that. There is a lot of wear to the bottom and a few chips on the rim, so I get a feeling of age from it. It is actually kind of ugly, but the indistinct mark on the bottom hooked me and couldn't pass it up. Any guesses on its origin welcome. Thanks for taking a look!

Although I am unsure of the maker, the vase is Czech, and interwar production, made between WWI & WWII. I would estimate the piece to be from the late 1920's. The mark is a circle mark which would say "Made In" on the top, "Czecho" in the middle, and "Slovakia" on the bottom. If you go to the post in my link below and look at the top right mark in the last image, that is what the mark would look like if clear. Hope this helps....

Generally, in most cases, the glass itself is your best roadmap to region and/or time frame.

It is actually a pretty well executed piece of glass..... If I saw it in the wild, I would have snagged it for sure.
