When u can stop a huge train and the conductor gets out to check your load you know you have reached a new level of attention getting loads. We picked up signs, pumps, a horse drawn fuel delivery wagon, various antiques, and yes, even a carousel for the grandkids. It was another 3000 mi trip but worth it and we even met the famous Tim Copp in Lawrence KS as we picked up a sign from him he had hauled from the DesMoines show for us. Great week of Pickin and we also got to see a few shows in Branson. Favorite was George Dyer, Broadway to Bouble. We think George has the best voice in Branson
You must be having a ball, traveling all over the country, creating memories and saving history....
Thanks for sharing!
You were able to afford a sign from Tim Copp ?LOL did he put you on a finance plan ? LOL
Watchsearcher,
Thx for the comment. Yes I buy signs all year long on the Internet etc and finally go on a trip and gather them up from a few places where they get stored with collector friends. Great people in this hobby who have become very good friends. The Branson leg is the bribe to encourage my wife to want to go with me
Trey,
U got to read closely. I bought the sign from a collector from Michigan who was at the Iowa Gas show and he hired Tim, who was at the show, to haul it to Lawrence for me as that is a lot closer. Tim’s a great guy and has awesome stuff but is waaaay out of my league and doesn’t even try to sell me signs. I’ve asked him and he reminds me I’m way too cheap for him.
Oh ok I see now. I know Tim real well LOL. We were having a talk about your 1,700 Frontier Key Hole Sign a while back and I was telling him how you get all your stuff at great prices.
