This is a Generals tunic that I purchased today and it is in my top favorite items in my collection. This is the tunic of General Wilhelm Ulex and even has his initials sewn in, the trousers and visor cap are reproduction. His biography is listed below
Wilhelm Ulex was born on 15 July 1880 in Bremerhaven, German Empire, and he served in a Holstein artillery regiment of the Imperial German Army during World War I. After the war, he remained in the Reichswehr, and he was promoted to colonel in 1931 and then to Generalleutnant in 1935, taking command of the XI Armeekorps in Hanover. In 1939, he was promoted to General der Artillerie. Ulex took part in the invasion of Poland in September 1939, and both Ulex and general Johannes Blaskowitz objected to the SS' inhumane treatment of Poles, accusing them of an incomprehensible lack of human decency. He was relieved of his post as a result, and he retired in 1941. He died in 1959.
