Here are some more fun Halloween diecuts. These are heavily embossed orange, black, and white jack-o'-lanterns (JOLs). They are marked Made in the U.S.A. and HE Luhrs, which indicates they are made by Beistle (per Ledenbach, Vintage Halloween Collectibles, p. 184), probably in the 1930s or 1940s. A number of these were made in Germany, but these were produced in the U.S. The JOLs look horribly agitated and we can only imagine what they might have seen or fear might appear. The first two pictures are taken with a digital camera and the last two are taken from a flat-bed scanner. The color in the last two is a little washed out, but the embossed detail is easy to see.
Here is a link to some spooky black cat diecuts that we posted earlier: https://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/272528-scaredy-black-cat-halloween-paper-diecut?
Happy Halloween!
