Hello, I am thinking butteris, a farrier's tool for hoof trimming. Regards, Lou

lptools is right, that is called a Farriers Buttress. This one is fairly old.

Hello, Thanks for confirming, but the correct spelling for this tool is Butteris. Regards, Lou

lptools forgive me, I worked in construction not horses so in my world it is spelled differently. When we are kids people tell us what it is but not how to spell it. I will have to remember that when around my grandchildren. Might be a good learning opportunity for them. Thanks for the correction. I will remember it until tomorrow.

Hello, fhrjr2, . I have been a carpenter my whole life, and a tool collector, that is why I noticed the difference. I did not mean to offend, and I hope that I learn from this, too. Regards, Lou

Lou No offense taken. I was quite serious about adults telling kids what things are but not about a different spelling. I never really thought about it until this post.
