Pick this up a while back with all leather in very nice condition. I believe 1880's. Lots of hardware and extra tin work details . It measures in at 34 L x 21 D x 30 H. The interior tray is missing and the typical top half of folding door in the lid section. It is linen lined so it was a high end trunk in its day. I have the other broken part of the lock but it has no marking or dates other than a number for the key. Rare to find one where the leather can be used. The buckling on the front will go down flat, but need to figure out what adhesive is best so not to bleed through in time to the front color ...anyone have some suggestions I will listen. I have one leather trunk which cannot be saved and you can see the exact squeeze in pattern and spreading of the adhesive they used to reattach the leather so obviously some adhesives can leach through the leather staining the face. I don't want this to happen. Thanks
Right up my alley, nice trunk Tom, love it.
