I purchased this steamer trunk from the sweetest young at heart, not in years, woman. A few years ago she was in her early 90’s and told me this steamer trunk was her father’s and has been kept in the family for generations.
The stamps on the lock says “Eagle Lock Co” and there is a number “5676”,
There is a label on the left side but I can’t make out much of anything on it.
Would love any info on this glorious piece.

Unfortunately her line about generations is not very accurate, judging by the wire bail latches, this was purchased in the 1920's and after. If she is 90, her father would have bought it up to 10 or 12 years before she was born or 10 - 20 -30 years after she was born. Not a rare item or truly special in the trunk world as far as being valuable ...but if you like it that's what counts. Without a makers label you will be forever stumped as to who made this item. Hope this helps in some way.

I agree with the above easily 1920's and probably much later, as for the Eagle lock the 5676 is the key number for the lock.
