    The East German NVA used a lot of Soviet equipment as well as manufacturing their own versions.

    Here is a Russian AKM. AKM because it is the post 1959 modified version that was in production the longest. I will still call it an AK47 though, because that's what everyone knows them as.

    This also comes with its type 2 bayonet. Picture 3 shows the bayonet doing its party piece, joining with its scabbard to make a wire cutter.

      I much prefer 7.62x39 to 5.56. Let the caliber wars begin!

      Now that is a fine pair of cold war pieces. Considering that the AKM has been in production far longer than the AK47 was it is odd that the AK47 name stuck.
