This is a rare decor that uses a wellenoptisch (wave optic) ground with large applied silberiris tadpoles that in this case double as feet. The cut top is absolutely correct, and corresponds to PN II-5550, ca. 1908. The vase is exactly 13.5 cm tall, and glows brightly under black light. The last photo shows a series of Ausführungs in sequence - L to R: Ausf. 56, Ausf. 57, Ausf. 58, and Ausf. 59.

Very interesting post and thank you for your reference to the cut rim. Have the golden trails of the applied tadpoles also been sheared away at an angle to the rim?
