My wife and I go to garage sales as much as we can. About 12:00 noon they all die out and start to close. My wife and I decided to stop at the last one we saw on our way back home. They were packing up and said make us a deal on onything you see. My wife said "look here honey", as she pointed at this old framed glass window that looked like it was faded and downright worthless. The person at the garage sale told us that several people looked at this and nobody even so much as asked how much it was. I picked it up and turned it towards the sun and WOW! It was pretty neat looking. "How about $5.00? the man said" (Five dollars), I said OK. We paid the man and off we went. We do not collect anything like this nor do we know anything about stained or painted glass. If anything, it's just nice to look at. Transom measures rounding off a little..

Your guess is as good as mine....Any help or suggestions are welcome.
What a great find, a few panes of glass itself are worth $5.00. On occasion I will find a victorian stained glass window with the center motif painted on the glass. Subjects vary from birds to flowers, etc. I have never seen an entire window which was painted. Your window was painted pretty much the same way they were painted for old church stained glass windows, which usually depicted religious scenes. Very nice.
