I received this unwired lamp base through an auction and love how unique and colorful it is. The only information given was in the auction description it said, "Vasart Balmoral Art Glass Lamp Base. Monet/Strathearn"
There is one tiny area of glitter (green arrow in the photos) that is puzzling to me. Is that an identifying mark perhaps? There are a lot of air bubbles throughout the glass, some larger than others.
Does anyone have knowledge of or recognize this work? I'd love to get it working but unsure how to go about that or if it's worth the effort.
My images were automatically rotated when they were loaded to the page and it wouldn't allow me to fix it, I apologize.

Very nice. It looks like the green arrow is pointing to some aventurine. What are the dimensions of the base? It looks to be really thick glass. Is it?

After looking at a closeup, I think I will take back my aventurine guess. Not sure what that is....

Here’s my tip on fixing the sideways pic.
If u r using your phone to post: select the picture u want to post, then “edit” that picture in some way. It doesn’t matter in what way you edit it, but then when u post that picture, it will be oriented upright.
I hope this helps with the pictures.
I love the lamp but can’t help with your questions.

Managed to get two photos to upload in the right direction. I will measure the base when I get home, but I want to say 3 inches.
I wouldn't say the glass is overly thick.

The base is 3 inches wide and the lamp without the bulb is 6 inches.
I wouldn't say the glass is overly thick, but I have no way to measure that. I'd compare it to the thickness of a drinking glass. Maybe a tad thicker.

This piece was made in Scotland c. mid 20th C - see this article for some more information on the manufacturer -

Monart (not Monet) was an earlier version of this company, & Strathearn a later one.

IronLace, thank you so much. Yes, I'd caught the typo/auto correct of Monart (Monet) earlier and forgot to edit it.

I was able to find one slightly similar, (also needed wiring) on Ebay. It sold for $675 ???? I think that was $5 well spent.
