Hello Family ... It's been awhile, and I've found another piece I need your help on ...
It's an Framed Antique Arabic / Middle Eastern Sculptured Figurine.
The dimensions are 19"w ... 24"h ... & 3.5" in depth.
It's not a relief, yet made of a solid metal (type unknown) ... also very heavy for it's size (approx. 35-40lbs)
Signed "Hardy" ... which I do not believe is the artist name but maybe applied for identification purposes (by owner?).
It has been inspected by a couple of local Antique Dealers who have said the circa is 1890 - 1910 (???)
Can anyone help or supply additional knowledge/information on this piece? Ever seen one? ... I cannot find anything in "cyberspace".
Thanks!
Is it just Hardy or is there a letter before it ???
Love Orientalist works. Very nice indeed.
Great detail.
Your a true treasure of knowledge for this website vetraio50 ... to answer the question, no there is no initial/letter before the name "Hardy".
vetraio50 ... highlight the 2nd photo/image and look at the lower right hand corner. There you can see the name "Hardy". Thx again.
Indeed blunderbuss2 ...
I have seen these before, I don't have time to check my books, I know I have seen the signature before and these were made of Spelter in France. No owner would scratch their name on a sculpture unless they were a complete moron.
Phil, you seem to be coming back with gusto !
Thanks Phil for the "Spelter" information ... and, "they do exist".
Here you find more information.
