Dealer's description: "Guaranteed original antique French Art Nouveau cameo glass by Emile Galle. Signed & in very good condition. One of the handle edge towards bottom is chipped and another handle has a scuff. The tri-colored vase in finely carved glass in cameo depicting a flowering plant, on a frosted greenish hue background with bands of brown around the bowl with dark brown-black 3 handles".
1. This is PN II-7314, 1910; it appears in Tango colors and in Papillon. The Galle mark is therefore spurious.
2. The vase is NOT marked Richard or Ca.Loetz, but the literature states that only those pieces made for the American export market were marked with the latter mark. I have another marked "Ca. Loetz" [Last pic. II-7236, 1910].
3. The "greenish background" is more like pale yellow or even ivory; the simple design is chestnut brown. I have yet to find solid black in these; I have not received it yet, but I bet the handles are dark blue. Also, if you look at Pic. 3, you will notice the handle breaks because there is almost no space between it and fake mark.
To summarize: what we have here is an entirely unsigned Loetz cameo!!!!!!!!!
