I'm very fond of rosebowls and, for me at least, this is a particularly nice one. The shape is new to me and it came with an ornate frog that only needed a light polish. The double lines have the usual rib behind them. The base spatter is a deep coral pink rather than orange.
I suppose the nearest décor would be Lines and Spots. If I were to be 'nitpicky' I'd say it's more Lines and Shards. The Translucent Lines vase next to it has the same oxblood splatter of shards around the base.
Height 16 cm./6.25 inches
The lines are fully visible only against the light. At first I didn't notice them. The rosebowl with a rose frog is the more 'rosy'.
Perhaps amongst ourselves we should call it Invisible Lines with Shards :) No attempt at 'doctoring' the photo made any difference!!!
Great find. This shape is seen very infrequently....... I sent you an image of this form in a much more recognizable Welz decor..... an unmistakable Welz decor actually.....
Thank you, Craig. So rarity too......it just gets better! I did reply as I appreciated the image. The seller also had a biscuit barrel in this décor, something I'd not seen before.
Here is another example in another marker Welz decor....

Now that's a stunner, but mine has the better frog! Thank you.
