It's cold outside and while drinking some hot chocolate, I remembered seeing this in a box in my garage. It came from a man that sold his house with the contents. He was about 90 and had Alzheimer's so he couldn't tell the family where his childhood toys were. They cleaned out the silver and his personal clothing and stuff, I got the rest, even his baby teeth. He kept everything and I mean everything. I am happy to own his childhood toys but the bugs and mice got to most of it before I rescued it from the garage floor.
The last photo is a tiny sampler of some of his toys, Christmas and Thanksgiving items.
I don't know the age of this TinkerToy but I understand they started producing them in about 1914.
bobby725 that's the only modern piece that I liked in their collection. It's just a resin canoe made in China. It says, "All Creatures Great & Small" on the side of the canoe.
I have 3 young boys at home so it is fitting to have vintage toys on the mantle during the holidays. (Where they can see them but not play with them)
It's definitely the old style Tinkertoy canister and logo, prewar '30s(?). The cars look like they're Hubleys, same era.
Thank you Toyrebel, that sounds correct. His toys that I have listed are mostly all from that time period. He didn't seem to collect other peoples toys but rather kept his own toys.
