We got this gem in a box lot of goods in April of this year. It is a Carder era Steuben 6108 Selenium Red Rib Optic bowl. The amberina qualities are very unusual for Carder Steuben but it appears to have been precisely and purposely struck. This would have been made ca. 1925.

It was vetted by the Carder Steuben Club when we were researching it. This bowl now shown as an example of the shape in the club Shape Gallery as they previously had not seen an example in this color.

I misunderstood. They don't appraise, we just had it authenticated by them. We have a fair idea of what it is valued at but it is in our collection now and is not going to be going anywhere soon.

With its beautiful red color I can't help but to love it -- even though I fully admit I don't really know squat about collectable glassware... ;-) y'all can discuss/argue amongst yourselves for where it came from/etc but I still won't care...it is a LOVELY dish?!!!! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

AnythingObscure...I (Dave) am a sucker for red / ruby glass also.
