While at local car boot a stall holder put this Banjo out for sale it just seem to good to be there so i brought it , when i ask if there was any history he said its been in the family from around 1920 ?.I would like to know any information about it,there is a makers name but its so faint can,t read it but it looks like Buchanane Imprelemen ? it as 6 strings , diameter 11.5 inches (uk inches) ,the shaft is 22 inches long to the base on front there is a piece of Mother of Pearl inlaid and has a further 2 stars 1 cross mother of pearl further up the shaft, on the reverse side at the base of the shaft there is a rampant lion with some craving in the same area .Any help to identify would greatly appreciated .
