Hi, and thanks for any assistance you can offer. This is a fairly old pin, owned by a former ww2 era soldier, and it may or may not be military in origin. It's 1.75" in both height and width and is secured with 2 pin backs. It resembles other military insignia I've seen, but those usually have screw backs.
It is an Army Officers hat badge.
The clutch back with grommets would seem to indicate that it is post WW2. Early ones would have one central screw.
A photo of the back showing the manufacturers mark and the pins would be helpful in determining the exact age.

Thanks, Scott! I added two photos of the back. The only marking I could discern was the letters "KREW" on the back.
Made after 1965, they were new issue when I went in the service in 67 and still used when I got out in 77.
Thanks! That's very helpful!
These officer hat badges have been around since the early 20th century-- not sure of the exact date, but I know they were used in WW1.
The KREW company is a post WW2 company (and still in business today, I believe).
