This Bauer casserole dish was created during the companies final year of production in 1961.
The Moonsong collection, is a possible nod to the Tiki/Polynesian/Brasilia craze of the late 50s and early 60s.
Pretty limited in production (and pieces) and therefore a rare find - especially in this condition.
More info can be found in the book: Bauer - Classic American Pottery, by Mitch Tuchman.
It is embossed on the bottom with: Bauer 1107 Calif USA
The color is a speckled natural or wheat tone with shallow textured lines radiating from the top handle of the lid.
The size of the bowl is 10.75 inches wide. With the handled lid on it is 7 inches tall. The bowl's handles extend 1 inch from each side of the bowl giving it a maximum width of 12.75 inches.
that's a new bauer for me! i really like it too.
Yes, it's pretty wild and such a departure for Bauer.
