Antique French Crossbow

I don’t think this is a military or wartime weapon but I could not find a hunting or medieval weapons category

Beautiful old crossbow with working trigger mechanism. I can find very little about it but did see one other example of one like this marked E Banse

There appear to be maker marks on the metal pieces including the steel bow

There is what appears to be a nameplate on bottom of stock which reads: CH Deudon CAMBRAI

The marks on the steel bow appear to be: a catillon and also “soris” or possibly “sovis”
