This pair of Victorian glass vases are something different & thus attracted my attention immediately.
The opalescent striped decor was made by a few manufacturers, notably Harrach & Welz. My guess on these is Harrach, but I'm open to informed ideas.
They measure 20 cm tall, 3.5 cm across the incurved, crimped top rims, & around 8 cm across the applied, dark green, leaf footed base.
Made from what looks like two layers of cased glass, they are a pale yellow - green, with touches of ruby at the top, & have vertical opalescent stripes. Excellent glow under UV light.
There is a certain floriform quality to them, an abstraction of a tulip, perhaps...

Could they be one of the Stourbridge factories? Thomas Webb or Stuart.

NevB, thanks for your thoughts, & it's certainly a possibility, as similar items were produced during this period by various makers. This pair was purchased from a UK seller.
