MOY is the Matchbox collector shorthand for Model of Yesteryear. Thus MOY in the title. Now as for the 1972 part this is the first issue color scheme. I don't have information on how long this color scheme was used but there were several others after this. I posted the white one several years ago. So anyway 1972-73 or something like that.
Now for the 1:1 version I was wondering what was underneath that very long hood. It is an inline 6 cylinder motor. I was thinking perhaps it was 12 or so but it is only 6. It was very fast for the time as it could reach 118 mph. The SS stands for Super Sport just like the 1960s Chevys,
The exhaust system is my favorite feature of this model. Aside from the 3 pipes coming out from the engine it continues on the underside of the model. It is brass and not just molded into the base as it is on most models.
Plenty of posts coming this week which may or may not be exciting.
