Special thanks to keramikos for IDing this item. I got this one wrong. These are red-legged quail which are native to Europe. Mostly England and France. There apparently is no sexual dimorphism for these birds which means the males and females look alike. That is a trait not shared by most quail type birds. Looks like I posted this at the right time. Pair tree and all that.
Buying used taxidermy is much less expensive than having it done. Generally as soon as the owner dies it ends up out in the yard for $10. I think I paid $70 for this.
Coming tomorrow will be rare brown Jamie West figure so stay tuned. Or perhaps the next night.
Amazing lifelike capturing of the quails, excellent taxidermy job fort, very nice
Thank you very much Newfld.
Thank you very much keramikos. Looks like I will have to amend the description. Also there eems to be no sexual dimorphism with these birds.
Thank you very much again keramikos. As you can see I almost completely changed the description section. Good to see I nailed it on the sexual dimorphism (a ten dollar term).
