Hello Friends! I wanted to share this with everyone. My dad has a wood-burning stove at the house and one day recently he was cleaning out the ashes and found this in them. Apparently a tree grew around it and the log was tossed in the fire. He said he's not sure what it is but to me it looks like an old cowboy boot spur. Questions or comments are welcome. In the photos I added a quarter to show scale. Have a wonderful Holiday Season everyone and a safe New Year!

I'd tend to agree w/Rob...that's kinda what it looks like to me too, and could explain how it got 'into' a fireplace log...?? Cool find/story no matter what?! :-)

Mystery Solved! You guys would make great detectives. It does look like that pulley from the 1930's that you showed me. Thanks!!
