This is one for all the pink glass fans out there, a pretty Victorian jug vase in silky satin glass.
It shades from deep to palest pink, with a white interior, & has enamel decoration of flowers. There is a clear applied handle with an unusual twisted form, & the deeply crimped top rim has a clear crest.
The vase measures 25 cm tall, 7 cm across the top, & 7.5 cm across the base, which has a rough, snapped pontil mark.
Fairly sure that it is of Bohemian origin, later 19th century.
A bargain flea market find!
Great handle. Really unique!
Many thanks, kwqd!
Yes, that handle really grabbed my attention - I've seen a lot of vases like this but the handle makes it different. It expresses the frozen fluidity of glass most elegantly!
