This is a recent purchase and, as you see, it is the same décor as a small hexagonal vase I had cause to post in connection with something else. This particular Kralik lobed shape is distinguished by having a small groove running around each lobe. They also come in plain colours.
Height 10.5cm./4 inches
Very nice pair, but if I didn't have this spatter in a Kralik shape,I 'd take the vase for Welz, probably.I still have a lot of learning to do...
It's not the kind of learning you can hurry. But here it's simple, just a shape I collect. I added the last image because the tiny ridges are very clear on the orange one.
The middle example in the last image appears to have a Diamond Quilt surface. Does it also have the same indents around the lobes? I removed all of the Mother of Pearl examples from my website years ago, as I felt that there were multiple houses that were provided to me as examples of Kralik that were not.
That example may be a piece of Kralik with a Diamond Quilt surface pattern, which makes my conclusion in my other post questionable. I still believe that the examples in that post are Welz, but this may indicate that at some point Kralik also used the texture. I had not seen this example previously.
Yes, it does have a Diamond Quilt surface and does have the same groove/indent around each lobe. For me the it's groove that makes these a specific shape.
I would agree.... May I use an image of the MOP example in my other post on the Diamond Quilt?
Certainly :)
