These are my great grand peperes - the parents of my mother's father. Their names were Argenor and Rosilda Lambert - both born in Canada and descended from French people who arrived in the early 1600s. Argenor built up a very successful construction company - building many beautiful homes around where i grew up. Rosilda made 'cures' - pills she would make from the herbs and wild plants she used to cure people of all sorts of ailments. She would go door-to-door selling them when she started, then sold them through stores. In the 1920s, they had a very large estate - which was transformed into the famous 'Toy Castle' by my Great Uncle Conrad. She also founded the Canadian / American Society for French Canadian women. He never learned to speak English, and she spoke very little English. They were very loved by the whole family - along with many in the community. These are very large photos which have always resided in our living room.
Great history and great photos!
