Before and after pictures of an early Coca Cola Bottling Company bottle from St. Louis, Missouri. It has the A.B.Co. mark on the back heel which tells us it was made by the American Bottle Co. and dates to the 1900-1916.
Back in September of this year I purchased a bottle tumbling machine and have been having fun cleaning up some of my bottles that needed extra attention.

If you don't mind, let us know what type of tumbler you are using. It sure does a good looking job.

I've added a picture of the machine, just a basic one bottle tumbler with a 1/3 hp motor. I believe she spins at 80 rpm. I have a bottle in the tube now tumbling away.

I use copper pellets (#12 cut to 3/32) and a 1500 grit silicon carbide mixed with water. For inside tumbling I put enough copper in the bottle to fill half way with the bottle on its side, add 3/4 tbsp. silicon carbide and fill with water leaving a good size air bubble. For outside I fill the canister (with the bottle centered inside) with copper, again halfway with bottle on its side and add 1 1/2 tsps. silicon carbide and top off with water. Seal and run for 5 days.
