This is a "real photo" sent from Uncle Frank to Sadie Garner in Bladen Nebraska. Most of the things that she saved were dated 1900-1920's. This card has no dates on it and I don't know Uncle Frank. He must have been good with the horses.

I thought it was Buffalo Bill when I first saw the picture, I know he had the same facial hair through most of the pictures I have seen of him, maybe you should check it out since you have no other leads.

The Wikipedia photo comparison looks (to me) like the same nose, ear and hairline.
At first I thought it was too far fetched but I guess you might be on to something.

Nope-- think it is just Uncle Frank!

The format of the photograph (Real Photo PostCard or RPPC) and the AZO stamp box put this in the early 20th century (1904- 1918). At that time period Cody was almost 60 or older.

Cody's goatee and mustache were much fuller and gray or white.

"looks like" seldom is with antique images.

Here is a posting that I did on the subject:

Thank you Scottvez. I agree with you. We all tend to look like George Strait around rodeo time or some other trend setter that the girls like. Uncle Frank might have just been fond of Buffalo Bill because he had not met George Strait yet. I read your article before and it makes great sense to me.
