Any ideas in this one? I'm thinking it's some kind of soldering iron but I don't understand the curve on the copper pieces unless its for pipe. Then what's the iron rod. It slides through the larger wood handle? Anyone ever seen one and know what it is and how it works

I'm not seeing much obvious evidence of solder on it/them, or is that just me...?? Are both the copper pieces basically the same shape? Maybe some sorta 'iron' for molding/shaping something else (leather, or ??) instead?? Also don't have the slightest idea what the sliding handle bit is about either...sure hope somebody else around here has a clue what it really is -- what an interesting and unique thing -- thanks for showing it!! :-) :-) :-)

Here are some videos of a guy using an iron that looks a lot like yours to seam-solder copper gutter. His has a torch attached and it looks like the purpose of the sliding rod is to move the iron closer or further from the heat?

      I know it's not a definitive answer but it's a starting point.

I would sooner think this is an old plumbing tool used to repair leaking orange burg pipe.. Can you please tell us how wide it is?
