    AHHHHHHHHHHHHH
this spoon is driving me crazy.
i cant find anything about this spoon. i found it in a abandoned house.

Front: smooth bowl with no art, goes up to something like roots with a leaf pointing to the top. lines going to top of spoon, looks like some type of pillar. in the middle is a flower with leafs around it. top is flower reef hanging towards the bowl of spoon. 3 different flowers on top of pillar.

Back: on back of bowl is alot of flowers wraping from the middle going up (sharp detail). crown in middle of in with 925/1000 (lower part of crown warn off. Roots again, in middle is a very designed J. goes to boxed [>Sterling<][>PAT. 1898<] 4 leafs stretching up goes smooth with trim around the edge. Engraved D K W. 2 branches hanging on side with ribbon in middle with faded LT. top has flowers around top with rose at top.

personaly, i was suprised on how sharp alot of the artwork is. most spoons before the 1900's are warn down or faded.
I would like to know anything about this creative piece. history, where it could have been made, the value (not selling, would like to know true value) what DKW means.
I would GREATLY apreciate any information.

I found the exact same ornate spoon among my mother's silver and believe it was her Norwegian mother's, my grandmother. I too have not been able to find anything about the silversmith or the pattern name. If I do, I'll contact you this way and ask that you do the same. Stay well, Sharon

if you wish to add to your collection, be sure and specify that you require the earlier edition - it is much finer.

I have this spoon as well. I purchased it in New Orleans approximately 6 years ago. It is inscribed on the front bowl: "Bena 1901". I have had a difficult time finding out the manufacturere. As yours it is 925/1000, Sterling, Pat. 1898. Maybe inscribed as a wedding present?? Appears that it maybe a rare pattern??

I just found this same spoon engraved, "Gleaners 17"...exact pattern. Did you find anything out about this? Beautiful spoon!

I just inherited this same spoon from my mother, who is 91. Her background is Norwegian/German, I assume that she got it from my late grandmother. The back of my spoon also includes the stamp "J.T.Wise with the stamp in cursive "Annon", I think that's right, it is difficult to read the cursive writing. Everything else is exactly like your spoon. If you have found out more I'd love to hear about it.
