I found this decorative metal plate in my grandparent's basement, and it quite possibly come from my great grandparents before that. I have no idea what it is. It appears to be cast iron and is solid It has a clip on the rear, which would seem to clip on a pole or something similar. Does it go on a fence, on a house? It would be quite large to be a belt buckle and a little too heavy. There are some numbers stamped on the rear. One size has the number "1210", while the other side has a number "6". There is a string tied to the clip. Can anybody help me to identify this?
