Marx train. Trying to find out more about this train that was my dad’s. He thinks he got it in 1941? Passing the train on to the great grandkids. Does anyone know more about this set? Also I need to find a wheel to replace on the engine. It is chipped off in two places and won’t stay on the track. I’m heart broken because I want to run the train for the grandkids. Would appreciate any information on this set and where I can get parts.
Welcome to CW, you should get some answers here. Check ebay people sell parts there and youtube may show you how to replace the wheel.

Beautiful set! the "warehouse" style box is very rare, the wheels do crack because they were made with an old alloy (before zamac) and they deteriorate over time, you can replace them with new replicas, amazing lithography in all cars.
Lara,
Thank you for the comment. My mother took care of everything. Still would like to find out more information about the train so I can pass it on to family.
You are welcome MicheleH, we have plenty of Marx collectors here in C.W. im sure you will receive more info on your train soon, Although i´m a toy train collector, im from Europe, so Marx is an exotic brand for me, its a rare sight around here unfortunately.
