It looks like a wooden board with black tar, shells and rocks stuck to it creating what looks to me like a bull. A net like material over it and metal and cement like thin layer cover the board . i think . i found it at the beach after a storm
Did you find it along the southern East coast of US (Florida, Ga, Carolinas)?
It looks like “tabby” which was a common building material which incorporated shells and sand to make a concrete-like substance. Early settlers of this country used it extensively because the shells and sand were available. It was such a good building material that some tabby structures still exist.
It was buried upsidedown on central coast california
Anyone with information please feel free to comment.
I’m not sure if tabby was used along the west coast. It’s possible but I’m not aware of it.
