RARE SHERMAN GREEN & AMBER LARGE PINWHEEL BROOCH & RARE PINK SHERMAN LARGE BOX By Gustave Sherman, Montreal, Canadian Jeweller.
The box is probably 7 or so inches wide and is the largest that Sherman ever made.
This brooch I was lucky enough to buy from the author of Sherman Masterpiece collection, Sandra Caldwell. It was used in principal photography for the book and Sandra gave me an affidavit to say so. It is hard to find these pinwheel brooches anywhere and they are highly sought after. I photographed it to show the height and the tiered construction with the tiny stones crowning the top.
Almost all of the Sherman boxes that you find are black and will not accomodate the height of this magnificent design. The beautiful pink brocade box shown is actually high enough and will fit these masterepieces and I brought up that the brooch is pretty much a perfect pinwheel design to the author. Its close to 3 inches wide but if you count the number of tiers in height you realize that it was the biggest or largest brooch Sherman ever made !~ ......G
Wowza, what a splendid beauty! Phil this brooch is a mountain of gorgeousness, the overhead shot is really jaw dropping, Mr Sherman went all out on this multi tiered creation and I congratulate you on getting this from the Masterpiece author (I have a signed copy of this book still packed away, one of my fave coffee table books, the beauty inside is only rivalled by your own fab Sherman collection). Much joy to you with this treasure and thank you so much for sharing this magnificent beauty with us :)

Truly a masterpiece. Have never seen this brooch other than in the book, “Sherman, The Masterpiece Collection” — which is this exact brooch. May I please ask if you think this colour combination was a special order. Thank you.
What an unusual and truly luscious colour combination. It seems Gustav Sherman was forever breathing new life into classic designs through his amazing choice of rhinestone colours and AB coatings. I think this is one reason I never, ever tire of looking at his work. Thank you for sharing this truly stunning piece (and P.S. that box itself is a real beauty!).
Thank you Evelyn, back in hosp as you know by now !
Hi Eileen, I am sorry. Evelyn was a super dear friend, still obsessed with her, she died in 2004. I still believe I got a call from her the day she died but by the time I called back, she was gone. In this hosp I finally got online after about 30 tries. It is extremely hard, as the site says they are not supporting internet, but when I finally get through, I finally forget what I wanted to do. Even typing is too difficult as with the touch type you have to push hard and even then often misses letters. Only online because I GET bored. most people here including the nurses and mobility staff did not know you could do games I found out. I tried to mention in my other replies how hard it is to work on a site which is not developed & is not meant for patients to be on. Anyway I did try two truffles and l loved them, but not supposed to eat them here.
Actually now for 2 days I have got online in morning, otherwise evenings is too difficult.
I second Eileen’s greeting. Wishing you a good recovery, as well, Phil. Home and privacy and your own technology is going to look so sweet to you. <3
Thanks Eileen and Daisy.
Wow....just wow!!!
Thank you Leesa3242, much appreciated. I had only seen this brooch offered once for sale and so I bought it form the author of the book., so it is a very rare piece to find !~
