Nothing I could/should really ever wear myself (as shown in the selfie pic) but it still appealed to my generally mechanical mind with its kinda clock-gears design -- and it was cheap! :-) :-) :-) Also nothing approaching 'fine jewelry' in any aspect of it and likely not much of any age to it either -- it's just amusing to me. ;-) ;-) ;-)
It's 20" chain is brasstone, with a couple coppertone and a chromish 'clock sprockets' connecting each end of it to a little silverish box about 1-1/4" x 1-1/2" x 1/2" as a pendant. The box lid is hinged with its own tiny catch, it is decorated with smaller clock gear-ish thingies all literally (and not terribly neatly) glued onto its surface. All parts of it seem to be magnetic, so I assume all coloration is simply plating or paint. The box itself is also textured on its surfaces, but there are no marks otherwise anywhere on it to suggest who might have created it.
Very cool and unusual piece, the clock gears are so intriguing - great find
Its a great Steam Punk art piece, hard to get a good one like that !~
THANKS SO KINDLY to: Brunswick, racer4four, fortapache, Watchsearcher, vetraio50, Newfld, Broochman, & aura for the sharing the <love it>s for this thing!!! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
MOST SPECIAL THANKS also to Newfld, PhilDMorris, & Broochman for your oh-so-kind comments -- its especially nice to hear from y'all since I *know* y'all are so-much-more knowledgeable about jewelry than I am?!! <bow>
For the record, I can also now state with authority that this is *not* a comfortable necklace to wear...I tried it this afternoon (under another shirt, so my co-workers wouldn't really notice) and its chain, though pretty to look at, contains *lots* of otherwise little scratchy edges... <groan><lol>
More THANKS to plein-air-painter & valentino97 for stopping by with the <love it>s for this oddball necklace!! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
<LOLOL> keramikos!! :-) :-) :-) Actually I intentionally avoided the term "steampunk" (until Phil brought it up anyway) because it brings to mind way too many otherwise cool old things I've noticed over the years which have been mostly wrecked when some "artiste" someplace went all 'steam-punk-y' unto them...
