This iconic vase is extremely well documented - first in Pazaurek's "Moderne Gläser", 1901, then again in Das Böhmische Glas 1700-1950, Band V Jugendstil in Bayern und Schlesien, and also in Josephine Glassworks Art Nouveau-Art Deco-Modern 1900-1950, by Stefania Zelasko. A smaller example exists in the Glasmuseum Passau, which I was fortunate enough to photograph in person in 2018. Zelasko's description:
Transparent, colorless crystal glass, partially covered with emerald-green overlay inside, matt and smoothly etched. Stylised floral decoration running around, painted flat with gold, polished, contours painted with dark-green enamel. Gilding. Vase was a part of de Maess collection at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1900, where Josephine won a gold medal.
The example in passau is 20.8 cm tall; this one, at 30 cm, is nearly four inches taller.
Gorgeous! I saw this and was wondering who made it; thanks for the detailed information!
