I also have an interesting book on the theme of kitsch, a German publication dating from a year after yours, 1970, first edition. It is titled "Kitsch - Lexicon von A bis Z", author is Gert Richter (Doctor philosophiae). A striking hardback book in burgundy red binding with gilt lettering, it was published by Bertelsmann Lexicon - Verlag. The text is in German (& my abilities are rudimentary to say the least) but one still can get the gist of what is being discussed. I found it in an op shop (thrift store) in Sydney some years ago now. I guess in the wake of Pop Art in the 1960s, the phenomenon of kitsch became an area of serious academic study from then on...
