I was immediately drawn to this vase because of its beautiful spreading purple tones and delicate enamel work. I really enjoy decoration in the Japonisme style, so this one really called out to me. The vase was made by Loetz c. 1890 and is decorated in enamel and gilt in DEK III/115; an example of this décor, on this same shape, is in the Passau Glass Museum. It stands 9-3/4” (24.8cm) tall. It is in wonderful condition with very little wear, especially considering its age. I am very pleased to have this piece in my collection.
So beautiful, so delicate. not to mention its pedigree.
Thanks so much, Peggy! I was so excited when I saw it - the color is beautiful. It does have a very delicate quality about it, I agree. :)
Wonderful. Congratulations.
Thank you, Ales - I appreciate it!
