    anyone know what this could be ? its carved out of bone. and looks like a monster of some kind coming out of its mouth is a fish... it says Peter Paneak number56319 or 5u319

      The official Canadian web site says the company was established 18 years ago and the igloo sticker approved as the official emblem. This piece has their igloo tag so I would assume they made it.

      From their site:

      GalleryInuit Art of Canada, established 18 years ago, is recognized
      and authorized by the Canadian Government to distribute and promote
      Inuit (Eskimo) art.

      We are wholesalers/ distributors of high quality Inuit sculptures from south Baffin Island (Cape Dorset, Iqaluit).

      Each sculpture is hand carved and comes with a certificate of authenticity
      (the " Igloo " tag) from the Canadian government.

      The sculptures are made from serpentine, which is a hard soapstone.There
      are endless varieties of forms and subjects: bears, walruses, whales, birds, inukshuiik, narwhals and more.
