I purchased a 15 lb box from a store in Virginia. In this box, I found this grouping of Military pins. I’m not an expert by any means but I believe them to be Captains bars? Please correct me if wrong. I’m unsure of a few things: 1. Which branch they could be from. 2. Which era they could be from. Of the 3 bars, 1 of them is significantly smaller & is not hallmarked sterling whereas the other 2 bigger ones are. The smaller one is stamped Gemsco w/numbers. The 2 bigger ones are stamped Vanguard Sterling w/numbers. Any information you might be able to pass along, I would very much appreciate it. Thanks for stopping by.
They appear to be clutch back pins which Vanguard started using in 1951.
Based on the leaf with acorn insignia, I believe what you have belonged to a US Navy officer. That insignia is for a medical officer.
In the Navy the rank insignia is for a Lieutenant (O-3), which would be a Captain in the Army.
Don't see a lot of age with these.
