Has anyone seen a thing like this? Approximately 7 1/2" x 10. Wood. W.H. Morris, pattern maker label. Found in cellar of 1800's waterfront brick building. Been curious for years, and this forum has been very informative
Maybe a wood gear or a mold to cast a gear??
Stuff
Looks like an impeller but way bigger than any I've ever seen! Also , W.H. Morris... the furniture designer? It's a mystery . Really curious at this point
Possibly a prototype of a squirrel cage blower fan. Size would be about right.
Offhand I'd tend to agree w/ 'stuff...your clue that it was found in an old waterfront building would make me wonder if it was once part of machinery attached to an actual 'waterwheel' to do something or other...?? COOL old thing, anyways!!
:-) :-)
Old mills did use wooden gears.
