Five Legged Mystery Bud Vases

Well, the vases don't really have five legs but rather four and a center support. I have never seen something like this. The base is highly polished (plus a few scratches because of age) and the "legs" are twisted. I would think that the pair is rather old and handmade. One vase has some bubbles and an impurity in the base, probably caused during the manufacturing process.

Any ideas would be very much appreciated.
