I happened upon an antique shop that was cleaning out its back storage room and they sold me 2 and a half banana boxes full of old advertisements and photos and such. These are two of the photos that were mixed in. There was also old religous prints and it was all stuff from the1890s to 1950s.
This photo of Ronald Reagan seems to be an Hollywood promotion pic that would have been sent to studios. The Martin Luther King photo was done by a Bernie Faingold of Denver.
Thank You for looking.
Great photos of two great men
Really nice, clean photos. I collected autographed photos in the 1990s and early 2000s and have maybe 75-100 in a big binder.... The photograph is often more valuable than the autograph depending on who the photographer was.
I used to have the address of E.T. who I wrote in beverly hills for a signed photo, back in 85. The background almost looks art deco of Reagan. Very nice find !~
Very cool find :)
My grandfather took the photo of MLK. It was the last formal portrait taken of him before he was killed. MLK used another from the same photo shoot on the back of his book, "Why We Can't Wait." Here is a tiny snippet about my grandpa: https://www.denverpost.com/2006/07/16/photographer-captured-some-of-nations-greats/
Also, just curious, what city did you find these boxes of photos?
Thank you LSallyG for the info, your grandfather was a great photographer. Sorry it took a while to answer as I very rarely check my email or profile. I got these in a little village antique store in Vicksburg, Michigan. The woman said she bought them at an auction but she did not mention where. My granddaughters are arguing over the photo and some Obama things I have picked up on my travels.
