This one actually found underneath another very old house recently, though its not likely nearly as old as that house itself. Once more I'm not anybody's "bottle expert" so will havta rely on y'all to edjumicate me about what it is or isn't. :-) :-)

The bottle itself has raised lettering reading "SAFEWAY" twice around the base of its neck, with lots of other stuff on its bottom (pic #3) that probably would help date it more precisely. Also just the remains of what might have been a glued on paper label, unless that's something spurious that just got stuck to it wherever it's been for all these years until I found it. It also still has a crimped-on rusty steel cap on it, whether original or not, with maybe the remains of some name/etc on it that I can't make out now.

Shown here as found without any attempt to "clean", it also still has the tiniest bit of some "liquid" in it...most likely something it didn't originally come full of...?? <eeek> Still, it'll be a fun accent/addition to my "flower beds" around the house mebbe, along with other odd old bits of glass/iron/whatever...?? (oh, and maybe flowers too?? <LOL>)

Looks like a soda bottle to me. Safeway is or was a grocery store chain that had their own brand of soda called Cragmont. There is one on E-bay with which you can compare it to.

THANKS bottle-bud for your advice -- I'd completely agree. Safeway stores were indeed once a 'big thing' in this area, though gone but the buildings now, and "Cragmont" might sorta fit into the remains of the lettering on its rusty cap. :-)

      More THANKS to Vynil33rpm, Watchsearcher, fortapache, Newfld, Brunswick, bobby725, yougottahavestuff, iggy, & jscott0363 for stopping by and tapping the <love it> button!! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

Hi anything, if you like to display bottles , why not starting a bottle tree in your garden? They look great, and it gives you a reason to look for more interesting bottles.
