This might be the mostest-bestest tiny little prize from the 'house cleanout in progress'...mebbe even the most 'valuable'...? :-)
Found buried in the very back corner of a kitchen drawer full of mostly rusty tools and old household hardware (along with copious amounts of, shall we say, "infestation evidence" of numerous kinda things that can infest such places <eeek><ugggh>) while otherwise digging around with a screwdriver saving errant (corroded) pennies. WHOOPS, I says to myself -- that's a *whole* different little glint of shiny there <wow> and *right* into my pocket it went...?!! ;-) ;-) ;-) :-) :-) :-)
After getting it home and looking closer, plus a gentle cleaning with warm water and a toothbrush (which brightened it up even more) it appears to be at least the setting of a ladies gold ring. **VERY** difficult to photograph, I hope y'all can at least get an idea of it. I would imagine there was once a very small diamond (?) in its center between the four tiny 'posts' on its raised (hollow) center feature, the detail on that and its surrounding parts of the band on either side of it is quite delicate and very intricate, also hollow inside. The rest of its band is quite thin (and indeed somewhat bent and out-of-round) and if there are any markings on it (or any other part of it for that matter) I haven't been able to discover/discern them yet. It weighs 2 grams.
And that's really all I know about it, except that it also happens to fit on my pinky finger. I suppose I should take it to a local jeweler or three to try to find out what it really is/isn't...in the meantime if anybody recognizes anything at all about it in some way, please share the clue!! :-) :-) :-)
My kind THANKS to vetraio50, Newfld, aura, Broochman, Brunswick, & fortapache for stopping by and sharing the <love it>s for this little gold ring!! I promise -- one of these days when I really *do* take it to a jeweler, I'll report back with the results!!
:-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Update 28May2020.
This little ring has now been given to one of my partner's sisters, along with a single little diamond (?) stud earring he also found in that cleanout house after I found the ring, which itself has a stone that looks to me like it should fit back into the old ring's setting. Hope she eventually does so with the both of 'em, if and when that happens (if I find out about it, that is) I'll try to update again. :-)
Meanwhiles I'm happier that they're both now back closer to their original "family" than they would be if I'd have kept them... :-)
Looks like my first wife's ring!!! Not worth much and lasted not very long!!! next wife going on 45 years!! She got the ring I got a great Wife!!!
