    Stoneware Storage McCoy #4 Whiskey Jug.
    Bristol & Albany. it has the Shield and Flower and the #4 inside, with M above that all in cobalt blue.
    some Crazing in the Glaze. it is a 4 gallon Jug. 18 1/4" tall , 10 1/8" wide at bottom, back of handle to end of spout 5 1/4".
    one small chip in the bottom. over all Excellent condition for it's size and age There is a chip missing from the top rim of the jug from years of use. .

      I didnt know enough about McCoy pottery to know about this early mark. I learned something new!

      This was more likely a jug for storing different types of liquids instead of just whiskey. I imagine it held water at some point in it's life. This is from the teens era . According to the Warman's Books, there are 3 different forms of these types of jugs, yours being the more typical one.
