Hello! Hoping someone can help me ID the chair. Picked it up in Savannah GA and can’t find any markings on it. I think it’s a hardwood but not sure which kind. Someone obviously added the canvas material where the seat is but I think it may have had wood instead at one time. Any help at dating and identifying would be wonderful. Maybe a stomps burkhardt or north wind? Any help appreciated, thanks! (This is a repost with right side up picks as suggested by PhilDMorris... sorry!)

Probably late 19th Century to early 20th Century. A very nice chair. A north wind would have a face on it whereas this one does not.

Thank you for your reply Phil, I agree with your date range but it’s unfortunate that there are no markings or anything to help further identify :/

On these types of chairs you cannot easily date them. Of the thousands of furniture makers that there were once esp after the wars, very few left any info at all !~ Sometimes if you live in a larger city you can go to the library and they have a lot of clippings, pics and postcards of makers in your city in the archive room.

I won’t be going back to Georgia anytime soon ???? I suppose my only hope is the internet, either by my own research or someone who knows more. Thanks for your responses Phil!
