Well I find it interesting anyway, and I guess it's intended to be a griddle?? Certainly looks like its been used as such anyway...??
;-) :-) :-)
From the 'house cleanout' once more, this is a large (15-1/2") round NOT cast iron pan, instead made of reasonably heavy gauge steel. (I think?) It has one small 'handle', one end of which has become detached from it. (I don't think I see evidence there was ever a 2nd opposite it?) Its raised edge makes it only about 3/4" deep.
I have no idea how old it is nor who made it and where, I also cannot find any kind of maker's marking on it. If anybody recognizes anything about it, please chime in with a comment!!! :-) :-) :-)
One way or the other, I think I probably *will* make a stab at cleaning it up for potential continued usage (or at least 'kitchen display'?) as somehow or other it just looks like it might be useful -- as an actual griddle, or as a pizza pan, or something?? <lol>
Yummy! I vote for all those uses especially a pizza—deep-dish type. :^)
More kind THANKS to Brunswick & Watchsearcher for your comments, also to vetraio50, Alleycat1, & fortapache for sharing the <love it>s!
Thomas, I do havta wonder if this might have once been a 'commercial' pizza pan (or somesuch) intended more for 'oven' than 'griddle' usage -- it certainly has the remaining baked-on 'evidence to suggest it might have once served such duty, and I do look fwd to trying to clean it up (just a little bit) to see what kinda otherwise 'yummies' I might use it for one of these days...?? ;-) :-) :-)
