I just took pity on the poor old thing and couldn't bring myself to toss it in the "trash" pile. ;-) :-) Though much of its brass plating has now succumbed to 'surface rust' emerging from beneath, it still has a traditionally pleasant shape/proportion at least to my eye. Its light socket and cord are probably not original, I'd guess (only a guess?!) the lamp body itself could date from the 1960's-70's or so.
I've also no idea what to really do with it, beyond adding it to one of my own 'piles of old junque' downstairs...it isn't very pretty as its current rusty self, and the brass plating is no doubt well beyond recovery. Mebbe I should just paint it bright RED and stick some funky weird shade on it...??? <giggle>
OOOPS -- forgot to add that it stands 34" tall (w/ its harp, the base itself is 21") and its base is 7" at its bottom and 7-1/2" at its widest.
-------------------EDIT----------------
I just found a spot for this lamp to live, oddly enough not very far at all from where it is pictured here a year or so ago?! ;-)
